SEASIDE DELIGHTS

A Show about Seaside Holidays Past and Present using traditional puppets, song, costume, props and magic.
The pupils are taken back 100 years to compare with today, traditions in seaside
entertainments and costume.
With photographs and costume, Adrian shows how people dressed for a day out at the seaside. He considers how they travelled and how they would spend the day.

The organ grinder in traditional costume with his monkey entertains on the promenade and a sailor ventriloquist puppet entertains on the pier. A traditional magic trick uses a picture of an Edwardian Bathing Machine. Puppet shows involve  an Edwardian boy’s visit to the seaside including a magical trip under the sea and a Punch and Judy show free of wife and baby beating!

Thank you for the wonderful presentation about seaside holidays. All of the infants had a wonderful time and were so involved. When we talked about it afterwards they had remembered such a lot and used what they had learned to help them in the writing which they did later that week. Our Reception children just had so much fun and I got most of my entertainment from watching their faces and they way that they responded. We hope to see you again soon and I'm sure we will be contacting you shortly.
