The TOY TESTER

A show that investigates the characteristics and uses of toys past and present, using toys, original puppet shows and songs.

Adrian’s toy bag is full of toys. The pupils help him to sort them into old and new, different materials they’re made from, those that have moving parts and those that make a noise. Adrian sings the Toy Bag song and plays a game at the same time. The pupils join in the chorus. In the Dolls’ House puppet show, Dennis wants to convert Ruby’s Dolls’ House into a Multi Storey Car Park for his toy cars but Ruby wants to put her dolls’ furniture in it. They work out a compromise..
Adrian introduces the pupils to his monkey puppet and shows how you can ‘play’ with a puppet.
The show finishes with the Toy Tester puppet show. Jerry has lots of toys to test including magical ones, cuddly ones, moving ones and finger puppets. Some things work well but the toys don’t always work as expected.
